Newfoundland - Trinity Bay

Rated #1 in 2011 by National Geographic’s Traveler magazine of the world’s great coastlines for sustainability and authenticity, a journey to the Avalon Peninsula is like going back in time. It’s close-knit communities; strong local culture and unspoiled scenery provide a unique insight into an earlier era. During this tour we will depart from the historic fishing town of Trinity and paddle up the rugged and isolated western coast of Trinity Bay. Our trip ends at the tip of the peninsula where the imposing light station of Bonavista looks out upon the Labrador Sea where John Cabot sailed in 1497 and laid claim to the region for  the English.
